About us
Queensland Baroque is a talented and vibrant, period instrument orchestra founded in 2017. Already during it's brief history Queensland Baroque under the artistic direction of John Foster has delighted audiences with their unique brand of performance with attention to historical performance practises. In their first season 2018 Queensland Baroque performed several times, including memorable performances with Amy Moore (Soprano, UK), and Handel's 'Messiah' with the Brisbane Concert Choir and performances at the 4MBS Music Festival. 2019 has seen Queensland Baroque collaborate with Madeleine Easton (English Baroque Soloists, Director - Bach Akadamie Australia) performing a programme including JS Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. Other soloists Queensland Baroque have collaborated with include Soprano Anna Sandstrom (Sydney), Sarah Curro (baroque violin Melbourne Symphony Orchestra), and Lathika Vithanage (baroque violin, Basel CH.), among others.
